We are excited to announce that our annual River Trip is back again this year! What is also super exciting is that this is our 50th year that we are taking our ministry to the River! It's an amazing weekend where students have fun wakeboarding, tubing, learning archery, playing games, and hanging out with friends, all centered around a culture of worship, learning from God’s Word, and growing in their faith. For many students, River Trip is one of the highlights of their time in the Shadow Youth. You don't want to miss it!

River Trip FAQs

Will there be a Parent Meeting before students leave?
Yes! We will have a mandatory parent meeting on Sunday, April 16th at 12:30 pm. At this meeting, we will go over our packing list, trip rules, and answer any questions you may have.

What are the accommodations/sleeping arrangements?
We will be staying at a campground called McIntyre Park in Blythe, CA and everyone in our group sleeps in tents. Students will be able to share tents with other students of the same sex. If you have a tent, please bring it and share it with your friends (smaller tents are preferred!) If you do not have a tent or don't know anyone to share with, please indicate this on our registration form.

What if my student has dietary restrictions/allergies?

We have put a section on our registration form where you can tell us about any dietary restrictions/allergies you have. We can accommodate most dietary needs. If your dietary needs require you to bring your own food, please contact us at hsyouth@shadowmountain.org.

What if my student has a medical condition/takes medication daily?

We have put a section on our registration form where you can tell us about
any medical condition or medication your student needs. At check-in, you will need to turn in any medication to our nurse and fill out a medication form explaining when the student needs to take it, and the dosage.

Will there be a nurse present?

We will have a nurse on-site with us. This nurse will be responsible for all medications turned in by students and remedies for minor injuries (sunburns, scrapes, etc.) The nurse will also be the first responder in the unlikely case of a medical emergency.

What activities will be available? What is the cost for each activity?

There are several things to do during Free Time both in water and on land. All of these activities are included at no cost to the students.
